Juxtaposition Arts

Juxtaposition Arts is a community based education, entrepreneurship, and professional development organization for young artists. We provide hands-on, visual art and design education workshops and paid apprenticeships to youth 8-21 years who use their applied creative genius as a pathway to college, professional artist careers, entrepreneurial ventures, and future employment.

Juxtaposition Arts develops community by engaging and employing young urban artists in hands-on education initiatives that create pathways to self sufficiency while actualizing creative power.

Mpls Photo Center

The Mpls Photo Center is where photo professionals and enthusiasts alike come together to work and learn, to discover and experience, to create, exhibit and become members of this unique community dedicated to photography and all its media and processes.

The Center was created and exists to foster community and enrichment opportunities among local and regional photography enthusiasts, including both amateur and professional photographers. Goddess of Glass

Connie Beckers is an award winning glass artist who owns a retail gift shoppe at Lowry & Penn Avenues North, and runs a studio and classroom at The Funky Bungalow on Lowry & Girard Avenue in North Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The Warren - An Artist Habitat

The mission for The Warren is to develop a place for local artists to display their work, conduct educational meetings about their research, work and artistic techniques. In addition The Warren hopes to provide a supportive educational environment where local artists can practice their art, or just hang out and learn different perspectives about art.

Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center

As one of the very few land-grant research universities located in an urban setting in the United States, the University of Minnesota has made a priority of discovering solutions to the many complex issues facing urban communities. Reflecting that vision is the University of Minnesota Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center (UROC), housed in a renovated building in North Minneapolis in the heart of a highly diverse community.
