Meet Me at the Market  - Join us for the final market of the season! - October 2nd

Last weeks market was bitter sweet. Many market patrons and vendors expressed how much they will miss the market in the off season. It was calm but we welcomed many new faces, and look forward to having you all back this week for the final market of the season.

This is a time of deep reflection for us. As we look back at the season to access our successes and areas for growth. Please look out for the customer survey in future newsletter as a platform to offer your feedback directly.

This Week...

Expect:
  • A variety of greens, root vegetables, melons, green tomatoes, peppers and other fresh seasonal vegetables
  • Non-local fruits and veggies from our licensed re-seller, the Community Ag Table hosted by our partners at Appetite for Change.
  • Fruit flavored Bar B Que Sauce
  • Custom gifts
  • Arts & Crafts

Setting the Table
a Pay-What-You-Can Meal at the WBFM
October 9th, 2015
5pm to 6pm

Join us as we partner with Loaves and Fishes to host a healthy meal prepared by local chefs for our end of the season Customer Appreciation event.

Through our "Setting the Table:" project, we will increase healthy food access and consumption by introducing market patrons palettes to new foods in a communal space.

We will create a safe, positive outdoor community gathering space where people of different ages and backgrounds can share a sit-down meal

Cross-cultural and cross-generational exchange through food, increasing communication, well-being and self-sufficiency are ongoing goals of the WBFM, and this meal will help reinforce these principles.

The meals will be held during the market time on Friday from 5pm to 6pm. The goal is to serve 100 to 150 people during that time on a FIRST COME, FIST SERVED BASIS. All attendees will need to check-in at the registration table to obtain a ticket for the meal.

Thanks to our generous sponsors at the University of Minnesota, CURA (Center for Urban and Regional Affaris) for sponsoring the meal.
